0. INTRODUCTION
Creating a moving album demands not only outstanding music but also striking visuals to match the intensity and atmosphere of your record. Album covers, logos, and other graphic elements are very relevant to defining a band’s identity and leaving a lasting impression. A well-crafted artwork can elevate a project, while a weak design risks undermining the impact of your art.
However, finding the right graphic artist for your project can be a challenge. To begin, there’s an overwhelming number of artists out there and the information and profiles can be scattered and difficult to review in an organized way.
To make this search easier for bands and musicians, I’ve compiled a picked list of talented graphic artists specializing in creating visuals for the extrmee metal domain. As you may already know if you’re familiar with The Empty Hall, we’re primarily talking about the Black and Death Metal here—but honestly, among these artists, there’s much more than that. Take your time to dive into their portfolios and discover their wide range of work.
Initially, my goal was to include every graphic artist I could find, but I quickly realized that the number of names was overwhelming. Including everyone without filtering would have made the list endless and, ultimately, useless. So, I decided to take a different approach: curate the list based on my own criteria. I’ve included a good dose of traditional symbolism and artworks, but I’ve also tried to limit the overuse of goats, skulls, and snakes, and instead highlight both renowned names and underground artists who bring fresh and interesting perspectives to the table. The criteria aren’t objective—it’s shaped by my personal preferences and partiality—but it’s what I can offer. That said, I’ll keep the list updated and add new names as they become relevant. For clarity, the list is organized alphabetically to ensure fairness and simplicity.
A Call to Artists and Bands
This list is not meant to include every artist out there, and it’s far from complete. There are undoubtedly many talented creators I’ve yet to discover. If you know of an artist whose work truly stands out and deserves to be featured here, feel free to let me know at contact@theemptyhallstudio.com or send me a message on Instagram.
While the selection process remains subjective and curated, I’m always open to discovering remarkable new talent. If you spot someone whose work aligns with the purpose of this list, don’t hesitate to reach out. I’d also be happy to update or expand the information of the artists already featured, should it be needed.
